Cory Puckett's PledgePage in Memory of Tara
Welcome to my fundraising website. In this website, you will be able join me in two important and life changing tasks before me.
#1 Raising over $1500 for the Leukemia and Lyphoma Society. #2 Training and competing in the Steamboat Springs Marathon on June 1, 2003. The motivation for joining up with this great organization comes from several people in my life. The first is my cousin Tara Davis. She died in 1976 at the age of 5. She was diagnosed with Child onset Leukemia in 1973. Today many more children are still living because of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The survival rate has gone from 50% in 1976 to 80% today due to organizations like the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. Second I am running in honor of a man not much older than myself named Jim Barton. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma when he was 28. He has undergone intense chemotherapy and is currently in remission. An important motto of his, "Live your life to the fullest! You never know what might be just around the corner." Well, through Team in Training and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, I don't want that corner to be any scarier than it needs to be. The research and treatments for blood related cancer is working, so letting make sure that they have what they need to eliminate these diseases. I am in training for the marathon and will keep updating this site so that you can be involved with me from the beginning. I am also looking for people to support me through giving financially. All it takes is: 60 people donating 30.00 30 people donating $50.00 15 people donating $100.00 If you are interested in supporting me in my two special endeavors, please email me for the details of where to send the donation with check or MasterCard or Visa. Or you can click on "Dontate," print the form and send it to my work address with a check or CC information. All donations are tax deductible. Thanks for joining with me in fighting blood related cancers and truly making a difference in the world. Cory M. Puckett srpuck@msn.com |
